Over fifty years of passionate devotion to purebred AKC Standard Poodles and Golden Retrievers on twelve peaceful acres in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
A Lifelong Commitment to the Heart and Health of the Breed
In 1974, Connie and Lonny Hackenburg set out with a clear, uncompromising mission: to preserve the beauty, working intelligence, and joyful heart of purebred dogs without taking shortcuts.
Nestled in the quiet rolling countryside of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, LoCo Meadows is first and foremost a family home. Our dogs are not housed in commercial outbuildings or kennel rows—they share our house, run across our 12 green acres, and sleep at our feet.
Over the decades, we refined our focus exclusively to two magnificent breeds: the athletic, hypoallergenic, and intuitive AKC Standard Poodle, and the devoted, gentle, and biddable Golden Retriever.

Why We Whelp in Our Living Room
From day one through day sixty, our puppies are immersed in real human family life.
Round-the-Clock Observation
Sleeping beside the whelping box ensures newborn puppies stay warm, nurse evenly, and gain healthy weight each day without incident.
Early Neurological Stimulation
Bio-sensor exercises conducted daily between days 3 and 16 enhance cardiovascular performance, stronger adrenal glands, and tolerance to stress.
Household Desensitization
Exposure to vacuum cleaners, doorbell rings, pots and pans, and varied visitors means puppies transition into new homes calmly and with confidence.

Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania
Acquiring the 12-acre peaceful country homestead along Route 204 in Snyder County, providing ample pastoral acreage for our dogs to run, play, and thrive in fresh mountain air.
AKC Ring Accomplishments
Producing homebred champions under renowned poodle mentors. Chase finishes his Championship in just two months and competes at PCA Nationals.
GCH CH LCM I’m All About That Base ("Raggs")
Raggs makes breed history by becoming the 4th Red Standard Poodle to ever earn an AKC Grand Championship, with Group 2nd placements and producing subsequent champions—at least 6 of his puppies are AKC champions.
Over 50 Years of Dedication
Celebrating 52 years of uninterrupted preservation breeding. Litters continue to be whelped in the family living room, matching exceptional puppies with devoted families nationwide.
